I’ve spoken with American Mythology quite a bit, they got stiffed but have no distribution otherwise and their titles that are solicited were all in progress with Diamond prior to Feb. They’re relying on the direct sales to consumers to try to float through.
That's horrible news - Lunar is pushing folks to Massive ... and that's not really a good option for anyone - I question the wisdom of indie-publishers who take that option. There is still hope that Diamond will be saved by a bidder with deep pockets.
I also wonder if the any potential buyer wants Diamond to auction non-essential assets before they're willing to close any deal. I don't think they can legally require it, but Diamond will do whatever a potential buyer wants at this point.

I hadn’t looked into the Massive sub-distribution myself, I presume between the two middle men it’s well over 60% discounted from cover.

That’s a good point - dump the excess and then a buy comes in for the meat and potatoes. But can Diamond ever be profitable again?
