Keep the faith m'man. Failed campaigns happen, no matter how many successful ones you've had before. October has become the busiest, glutiest (now a word) time for Kickstarter, with far too many campaigns happening at the same time. Regroup and come back in mid-Jan/Feb for a second go (skip Dec and the first week of Jan, holidays tend to be even worse times for fundraising.) Yes, T&A and erotica comics sell stupid numbers. Welcome to humanity. We'll still get our non-T&A comics well enough funded even if we have to suffer setbacks now and again in the process. There are a couple comic crowdfunding Discords and FB groups I can introduce you to as well. They're excellent places to rope in additional pledges, assists with spreading the word, and cross-promotion. If you're interested!
Thanks, due to a few car accidents (yes more than one) and some other personal issues - I stepped away from Substack for a month … but I’m going to get back to the grind so that I can start 2024 on the right foot. I try to always stay as positive as I can in the face of all sorts of adversity … but that can wear someone down after a while. I use to hop on the FB groups … but backed off from that - do you think there is still life in those? Also I have a Discord account (I think) but have never delved into it.
Oh no, sorry to hear about the accidents! But glad that (seemingly) no one is too much the worse for wear due to them. Re: FB groups, still some life, yes, though probably they're not what they used to be (what on social media is anymore?) The two I mentioned are actually just group chats, but very active and useful ones, we even have a running spreadsheet where we can keep track of every meber's upcoming campaigns so we can plan cross promotion between them. The Discords are even better, imo, they're essentially a cross between private, curated forums and social media threads, where everyone is an indie creator with their own fan bases, and we're there to discuss and debate the current happenings with the indie scene, help each other out, and just offer overall support. So just let me know when you think you're ready, and we can connect somewhere where we can DM and exchange the necessary details to make it happen.
I love Cosmic Times. As far as I can tell your books are the most well written indie comics on the market. I really hope this isn't the end.
