Greetings,
Life has been a whirlwind lately—imagine standing in a cafeteria, and the lunchlady keeps piling more grey goop onto your tray. Instead of saying "no more," I find myself eagerly nodding for "just a bit more." Though the plate's overflowing, I'm pressing on, even if it means these Cosmic Updates are a tad delayed.
But let's dive in...
Collective Con-Quest!
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of representing Cosmic Times at Collective Con in Jacksonville, and it was AWESOME! Despite some last-minute booth relocations, I found myself nestled between the Mighty Matt Knowles of Insymmetry Creations and the talented Praiseworthy Peter Raymundo, a former Disney animator. Once our booth was set up, I knew this convention was destined to be EPIC.
Collective Con, Northeast Florida's BIGGEST comic book, sci-fi/fantasy, and pop culture event, took place at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center in Jacksonville. Thousands upon thousands of fans poured in over the three-day con-a-palooza. The convention boasted an impressive lineup of media guests, including Giancarlo Esposito, Ron Perlman, Famke Janssen, and at least a dozen more. But the heart of the con lay with the creator guest, such as Chris Bachalo, Clay Mann, Tim Townsend, Andrew Robinson, and our very own From Blood variant cover artist, Larry Watts.
Beyond the bustling show floor, evenings were filled with con-fellowship. Dinners with friends like author Steve Altier and his wife Toni, as well as the Attic Door Media duo of Cici and Mark, provided both fun and invaluable networking opportunities.
In summary, Collective Con was a stellar convention, offering experiences that extended well beyond the exhibition hall.
